The Sponsored Projects Office (SPO) at UC Merced is home to the campus-delegated Authorized Organization Representative (AOR). It serves as the official liaison between the university and sponsoring agencies: federal, state, local, foundations, industry, or other public and private sources.

 

SPO staff supports preparing, reviewing, authorizing, and submitting research, training, and other sponsored activities proposals to externally funded sponsors. SPO Contract and Grant Officers are responsible for award negotiation and acceptance.

SPO offers virtual office hours daily from 10-11 am and 2-3 pm Monday through Friday to all researchers on campus to answer questions or concerns regarding proposal submissions. Please join us at SPO Office Hours.

 

NSF 25-011 Mandatory Multifactor Authentication for Research.gov Sign-in Effective on 10/27

  • Mandatory MFA: Starting Oct. 27, 2024, all Research.gov users must use multifactor authentication (MFA) for sign-in.
  • One-time Enrollment: Users must complete a one-time MFA enrollment process beginning Oct. 27, 2024.
  • Training Resources: How-to guides and FAQs will be available on the new About Signing Into Research.gov page on Oct. 27 to help users enroll in MFA and sign in.
  • User Role Review: NSF requests organizations review and validate all user accounts and roles. Administrators will receive instructions to update the View My Users page.
